Meditation On Reaching Out was written to express God's love for humanity; that is, the spreading of God's salvation to every nation. The work starts softly and builds up sound intensity as it progresses over time, ending with a full-organ registration. As one hears the pieces, one listens to the minimalist element that gives a meditative quality, in a manner similar to the works of Steven Reich, Arvo Part, Phillip Glass and other composers. Meditation On Reaching Out may be suitable for the offertory, evening prayer service and for concert use. The work may also be used for teaching students in their first year of organ study.
